Prescription
People achieving this module will be able to apply knowledge to supervise the implementation and establishment of amenity plantings, follow planting plans and planting schedules. Graduates will also be able to select and apply inputs for plant establishment, health and vigour, and implement and supervise pruning and training methods for functional, aesthetic and health reasons.

Learning Outcomes
Supervise the implementation and management of plantings and follow planting plans, planting schedules, and planting specifications. Select, implement, and supervise inputs for plant establishment, health, and vigour. Implement and supervise pruning and training methods to achieve functional and aesthetic effects and to manage the health and vigour of plants.

- Implementation of planting plans - Planting methods - Regeneration plantings – urban and rural situations - Pruning and training methods - Inputs for plant establishment – irrigation, fertilising, mulching, weed control, pruning, training, staking - Supervision styles - Instruction, delegation - Working to time frames - Achieving set goals and objectives - Health and Safety
Teaching and Learning Strategy
Teaching and learning methods will be face to face delivery including workshops, project based interactive tasks, with group sessions, tutorials, and creation of portfolios of evidence.
Assessment Criteria
Assessment in this module is mixed mode (both Achievement and Competency) based. To achieve a pass grade for the module the student must complete all pieces of assessment work achieving full competency in any competency-based tasks and gain a mark of at least 50% overall for the achievement-based assessments.
